Questions
Questions we hear most
Do you take my insurance?
We file claims for you with dental plans, and with medical plans where gum treatment is billed to them. Whether we are in network depends on your plan, so we check before your first visit and tell you.
What if I don't have insurance?
You get the fee in writing before treatment. See how fees work for receipts, estimates and financing offered by third-party lenders.
Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?
Ask us when you book, and we'll say plainly whether we take your plan.
Will it hurt?
Most people feel pressure and some tenderness. We numb the area when treatment needs it, and we stop whenever you ask.
How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?
Dr. Wade decides from your exam. X-rays are taken only when they are needed to see something we can't see otherwise.
What is a deep cleaning?
A cleaning of the roots of the teeth below the gumline, usually over two visits, one side at a time. It is for gums that have pulled away or bleed.
Do you see children?
Our patients are adults. If your child's gums worry their dentist, ask them about a clinician who sees children.
What counts as an emergency?
For trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling spreading to your eye or neck, or a serious blow to the head, call 911. For a loose tooth, a swollen gum or bleeding that won't stop, call us or your dentist.
Do you offer anything for nervous patients?
A local anesthetic is standard. If treatment makes you anxious, tell us when you book and we'll talk through what is available before the visit.
Can I get a written estimate first?
Yes. You can ask for one before any treatment, and if you're paying without insurance we give you one in advance.
Do you have an interpreter?
Visits are in English. If you'd like to bring an interpreter, or have us help arrange one, tell us when you book.
How do I change or cancel a visit?
Call or text the office as early as you can, and we'll find another time.
Still have a question?
Call the office, or send a request and we'll call you back.
