Fees
How fees work
What gum treatment costs depends on your plan, your gums and what the exam shows. Here is how we handle each part, and what you can ask us to put in writing.
Insurance we work with
We file claims for you with dental plans, and with medical plans where gum treatment is billed to them. Whether we are in network depends on your plan, so we tell you before you book. Referring offices can ask us the same.
Most PPO plans: we file the claim
DHMO plans: ask us before you book
Medicaid and CHIP: ask us, and we'll say plainly whether we take your plan
Medicare and Medicare Advantage: ask us what your plan covers
If you pay yourself
If you are paying without insurance, you get the fee in writing before treatment, and you can pay at the visit. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

Receipts for reimbursement
After a visit we give you an itemized statement with procedure codes that you can send to your plan. The plan decides what it pays.

An estimate in advance
You can ask for a written estimate before any treatment. If you're paying without insurance, we give you a written estimate in advance, when you schedule or whenever you ask. It lists each step we expect and the fee for each.

Checking your benefits
Send us your plan details when you book. We check what the plan says about gum treatment and call you with what we find before your first visit. A plan's answer is an estimate, not a promise of payment.

What the first visit includes
About an hour: a talk, the gums measured, X-rays only if Dr. Wade needs them, and a written plan with an estimate. Fill in your health history on our private patient portal, not by email or in the contact form.

Ask before you book
